Not sure yet. I have access to an upright 8274, but I think I want a lower profile winch. I'll figure it out later. I should have most of my suspension parts with in the next few weeks, so it's time to move on to bigger and better things for now.

that's exactly what i was hoping it looked like.......awesome man what winch ya gonna stick on there?

Very nice work

Wade, question about the rock rails: You mentioned you bolted through the frame with 1/2 inch bolts. What did you do on the driver side to avoid the fuel and brake lines that run along the inside of that rail?

Really enjoying your photos and watching the transformation. Thanks for posting it up.

All I've done so far is pop the retainers loose from the frame. A flat screw driver will do. Be careful not to break them.
I'm going to make a c ([) bracket. I'll drill a hole in the center of the long end. I'll clean up the frame and weld the brackets on the frame. they will need to be 3/4 to 1" tall to miss the plates and the bolt heads. When done welding just snap the retainers in to the new bracket and hole. Should be easy.
I might have to put a few slight bends in the tubing, but my small brake line bender should make short work of it with out a problem. If you don't want to weld, make a similar bracket, put a hole in both smaller ends. Buy some push in retainers. snap one end in to the frame then the line retainer to the bracket

I hope this helps.

Thanks for looking.

This weekend I decided to try my hand at building my own set of bastard packs. My goal is 3" of spring lift and 2,5" of shackle lift for a total of 5.5.

My goal of 5.5 was met on the first try. I also added a new 95 YJ rear brake line, new shocks and Ironman4x4 adjustable shackles.
i'll post this as "my bastard pack build" with a full break down on how I did it and springs used. look for it in a few days.

Continuing to do some great work Wade, and you got a great lookin' helper there! By the way I picked up a 4.10 R&P here locally from a friend's YJ. Enjoying the build... about the same goals as mine, though my transformation is a bit slower.
