Hello all. I bought this jeep from my neighbor for 400$ It was his backyard beater and mudder. (i live out in the country) 89xj 5spd peugot 3.07 gear 29 muffet tires on 16inch rims. No exhaust, speedo gauge and front headlight are the only things that worked. Pictures say it all.

The motor is somewhat clean. Egr and pollution shit blockoff, electric fan to a switch in the inter fender. No manual fan. overheats later to find out there was barely any coolant.

Well it is still an on going project. It is my dd in bad weather. I runs and drives good. I also put a new track bar in, new clutch kit, new rad, coolant bottle, thermostant, all new fluids, to much to list. Later i ran into 2 owners ago and he told me when he had it he put a newer motor in it. He put a renix with 80000miles in it then. So the motor its self has probably under 100000miles because it was never street legal. Now it is. I plan to add 33inch tires, aw4 tranny with external slave, either a dana 44 or 8.25 with a rear locker and 456's. Any comments or questions feel free to ask.

whats the deal with that round metal pan thing?

Unless I miss my guess, that would be the new air intake.

if u look at the engine pic the previous owner routed a rv gutter hose and cut a hole in the firewall on passenger side and threw the second wall where the glove box is now and put a round airfilter with a pan style top on it with a wing nut. But i wanted a full dash. I now have it routed up out the top of the cowl grille on the passenger side. Il put pics up tommarow.

you should have left the tractor tires on it, maybe you wouldn't have been stuck:twak:

nah, just razzin ya some, great find nice jod on the rebuild;)

got a welder or a friend with a welder?
if so, put an 8.8 in it and regear that.
then you're ready for the larger tires and you got disc brakes.

the pumpkin will drag a lot with 31's though.

15x10s is a little too much rim imo.

them rounds lights werent in a supported bucket they just dangled all over. The stickers dont bother me i just toke the redneck one off. As for the holes i patch them with sheet metal and pop riveted it to the floor and bed linered over. I dont have any carpet for the simple reason of getting water in the cab and having moldy carpet. Bedliner is durable enough.
