MWC invades the SEC (cherokee crawl 2010)

Not sure who originaly put KY in the midwest, its southern alll the way.

I don't disagree at all, you guys are as southern as all the rest. But when you have an event at the far border of the chapter, you will get minimal participation from people who have to drive a long way.

Nobody from florida is coming to the crawl. It's a 9 hour drive for me from just from the coast.

We are limited on wheeling areas. Even tellico didn't lend itself well to a lot of the members in the far eastern and southern parts of the chapter.

It's kind of like having WF in indiana and expecting someone from north dakota to drive down. Just not going to happen.

So it's easy to see why people from IN, OH, and PA would make plans to come down, because it's the same drive as someone from TN, AL or NC/SC.

Thank you for your support, Brian. Brian has wheeled Harlan. He knows why we chose it.

Last crawl at Harlan had someone from Florida........

Rambo. He was from around Miami. Loooooonnnnggggg drive.

Harlan was the best place we could find, bang for your buck. Cheap permits, town/fuel nearby, camping at the trailhead. It is just about 1.5 hours over the TN line. We hoped to attract some MWC guys and more NC, and VA area peeps.

Sometimes good wheelin' is just on the other side of the tracks. :D

RedHeep, we figured we would draw some MWC guys by the location. Hey Brian and Pat are fun to ride with...what can I say.

Can't say I disagree. Tellico was the best wheeling that was centrally located we had IMHO. I must say I hope all of you come and it doesn't really matter to me if you do out number us! The more the merrier! It's all about the wheeling and the fun around the fire.

Stacey and I are going. Nick and his wife are going. We will all be there Thursday night. Can't wait.

X2 on the can't wait...

I'm in for this as of now. Arrive Thursday, leave Sunday.

Craig, do you want to convoy it down there again? I think I can go faster than 60 now that I have a real truck.

If I time it right . Maybe Patty and I will join in along the way...

Nick

KY was NOT in the SEC when the MWC did it's initial land grab.
So, that is why, we took every thing that was not already in a chapter, OK, LA, ect.
We would have even taken Alaska and Hawaii.....

Was the SE a chapter when the MWC was formed? Were there any mmbers in KY when the SE was formed? IIRC we bairly had enough to qualify back then. 02 or 03 IIRC.

Stacey and I.

I may still be in. Not sure yet. Got a few things going on and I am back at work so who knows.

Brian are you going to camp up top like last time or will you try to get more towards the bottom? Ed and myself have cabins, I think Mark too. Not sure where though. Seems like they are near the bottom except the huge one.

I doubt the HOtel will make it up the hill, I have a spot reserved at teh bottom.

I am still planning on making the trip, need to finally fix some things on the tow rig and the Jeep will be incapable as usual, but it will still be a fun time.

I am planning to camp in the lower area where we were last August.
