Those are two different sizes as well as being raw metal. I think you can find better. Don't know about the center bore though. Try searching, I think it's been covered.

i think stang wheels have 2 1/4 centerbore and xj's have a 2 7/8 center.
whats the most inexpensive way to get these on? i figure a 1/2 to 1" spacer sould be good, but i get confised on hub centric vs lug centric and how spacers will affect it.

sweet. i cant wait to get 17's. just waiting for the right ad on craigslist.

i've got a set of 2005 mustang 16in rims with tires. they don't fit on my XJ because of the center hub. they're the right bolt pattern and backspacing looks right, but they don't fit. here's what i'm talking about:

that's actually the picture from when i got them on ebay. don't fit on my 1988 or 1964 lincolns either.

Can you machine out the whole a little?
i contemplated doing that. they wouldn't need much, but i don't know what it would take to do that. i don't just want to go buckwild with a file and i don't have the bank to pay someone to put it on a lathe or something.
they don't fit on the 64 or the 88 because they have grease caps and wheel bearings and stuff that stick out of the middle of the rims, necessitating the use of center caps.
just so you all know, any rims from a 2005 up mustang won't fit on an XJ without machining.

Just get a set of 100-spoke deep-dish gold Daytons and hydraulics, it'll have the same effect as the 'Stang rims....ie your Jeep will look cool and still be ass slow :) j/k

I Picked up this 96 4x4 about a month ago
and the bullit wheels about 2 weeks ago
The wheels bolt right up to the front just fine
but the back wheels needed a little trimming to fit the rear hub, not much mind you,
the drivers side i just cleaned up the "lip" (almost like casting flash ) with a air grinder and carbide bit
the passenger side i did with a grinder and disc because the carbide bit cloged quickly with the aluminum
id say it was about 2 min per wheel, not much at all
the wheels do center fine with the opened up center holes, the stock acorn lugnuts do a fine job
but if it still bothers you, you should be able to fine "lug centric" lug nuts
ive never seen them, and i dont know how they would work better than acorns

the tires i have are 235/65/17 they make the speedo off about 2mph or so (29" tall)
but they were only $50 each so i said why not lol
when these wear out ill pony up the cash for the 255/55/17's and the speedo should be fine

all thats left is to find matching touch up paint to paint the center caps or see if i can use the old jeep logo from the old caps
