Much needed Oregon snow run...

Where do you want us to meet with you at Twistedimg? Would the Eagle Creek Chevron work ok?

Well, that depends on if you guys want to go up hillock burn or up Hunter Rd. I'm more familiar with the Hunter Rd. method and know of a couple small trails that are off the road, but nothing special. But the views going up Hunter Rd are better from what I've been told. Also been told several times over the last few weeks that a lot of the gates going up hillock burn are closed from some reason.

So its up to you guys. If you want to go up Hillock Burn I'll probably meet ya there at the beginnig of the road somewhere off the Hwy. If you want to go up Hunter I'll meet ya in Colton since I'm like 5 minutes from Hunter Rd. Just tell me which way you wanna go and I'll plan a meet spot for me. :)

If we're gonna go up Hunter Rd then lets meet at the Colton Market. They've got a deli, coffee, and gas so anyone who needs such can do so and its right on the way to Hunter (about 5 minutes). Its also across the street from the High School where a lot of people park their truck/trailers while they are wheelin.

What time do you guys want to meet there? If you're meeting in gateway at 9 it will take about 45 minutes to get to the Market so lets say 10? And I don't know what way you guys are headin out but its actually easier, safer, and faster to come through Oregon City. Very easy to find. If you want me to give some directions to go that way I will. Or you can try to mapquest or whatever, just look for Wall Street, Colton, OR, 97017. The market is on the corner of Wall Street and Hwy 211.

I'm not exactly sure where the Colton market is. Hwy 211 is the highway that runs from Sandy to 212 right? Or is it the other way around, I always get those confused. Some general directions would help since for some reason Mapquest isn't working on my computer. We're actually planning on meeting at 10 at Gateway, so is 11 cool?

Yeah, 11 works good for me.

Here are the basic directions, this is the way I travel almost daily...

I-205 to the Molalla/Park Place exit (I believe it is exit #10)
Follow Hwy 213 through Oregon City, past Clackamas Comunity College, and through Mulino. (You'll know Mulino cause its at the bottom of the big hill, and has a Chevron, Mulino is about 8 miles from I-205)
About 1.5 miles past the Cheveron in Mulino you'll want to turn left on Union Mills Rd.
Follow Union Mills Rd about 3-4 miles to the 4 way stop, this stop is the intersection with Hwy 211, there is the Meadowbrook Store/gas on the corner.
Go straight through the 4 way stop (be carefull as you have to yield to the traffic coming from the right)
You are now on Hwy 211, follow it about 5 miles to the Colton Market. Can't miss it as it is at the top of the hill, with a yellow flashing light, and the speed limit is 35mph through town.

Here is the address to the Colton Market:
20867 S Highway 211
Colton, OR

It hasn't been getting much above freezing so the roads are iffy in the morn. One plus to goin this way is that the roads are well covered with that anti ice freeze stuff and are maintained well in the winter. I don't think there has been a single icey road wreck on them this week. But the side roads have been a whole different story. Once we leave the store we'll just have to drive carefull to the gravel. Its not bad, just need to be aware that there is some icey spots.

Alright guys, I'm hittin the sack. I'll be up around 8 and will check here for any updates. If I hear nothing different I'll be at the Colton Market at 11am. And how many of you guys are runnin a CB? I'll be sitting at the store on channel 10 if you for some reason manage to get lost. :)

Well, waited another half hour and no one showed. I figure waiting an hour and a half was enough. I hope nothing serious happened to keep you guys from showing up but I hope there was a good reason that I found someone to watch the kids for the day, spent all morning preparing food for the Xmas dinner tonight, and cleared the rest of my schedule to wait an hour and half for no one to show up.

Shit, I'm sorry man. My bro is in town, and we went to a kegger in Vancouver, and got home at 4am. And my girl spent the night, and I didn't wake up till 10am. That's the time I was supposed to be AT Gateway Starbucks. Sorry Dvipercop.... I'm really sorry guys. I even flaked on crooked xj earlier this week. :( /cry
