So with all this talk about snow lately, and after having seen the pics from the recent WA snow run, I want in on the action! :) Sooooo...for the Southern Washington/Northwest Oregon folks, who wants to plan/participate in a run? Just off the top of my head I'm thinking about Goat Mt. near Estacada. Or, for that matter, any Mt. near Estacada. Any other suggestions or places that I'm not thinking of? Anyone interested?

I have a craving for snow!! :D

I'm thinking sometime soon. I'd like to do it before Christmas if everyones scheduling works out. From what I understand, Sundays are generally the best for people correct? What do you think about the 11th or 18th of this month?

Now there saying that it's going to be to warm to snow for the next few days at least... I knew it wasn't going to snow. Although it did snow out in gresham where I live, but it didn't stick. Hey Ryan, Wildcat Mt. has a lot of snow right now.... We should hit up there or go to Hilockburn. Where it took 3hrs to pull Hollenbeck out. Anyways.... sundays work for me just let me know what date you set up.

We went up on Goat last weekend. There was some snow but a lot has melted since. Was supposed to snow last night up there but it didn't. Its still too cloudy right now to see what its like up there. Might drive up later this evening.

The pics were taken Sunday up on Goat about 10 miles from my house. If you guys want to know if there is snow up there or not ask cause I can usually see the mountain from my porch.

I'd be more inclined to try out Hollockburn just because Wildcat is getting old now. There isn't to many trails on Wildcat. I wanna try somewhere relatively new. Twistedimg, could you check next chance you get if there is snow up on Goat Mt?

So lets set a tentative date of the 11th or the 18th. I'm leaning more towards the 18th just because it gives more time for planning. What works best for everyone?

this saturday me and a few others are going out north of the Washougal Motocross track to play in the snow if anyone else wants to go, youre welcome to. let me know and we can set up a meeting spot.

Man, I live in Gresham I would really like to go but my rig is still too stock. Right now just ACOS and shackles. Been to wildcat twice and did very well considering my bald random brand tires. My jeep woon't be ready for about another 6 months but it'll be worth it. Going with the RE6200 (5.5" /w DB's) and 33x12.50 BFG muds. Definitley want to go out and wheel with some yokals.

Bumpin this back up...

Looks like this Sunday myself, pdxxjnoob and jpars are planning on going to Goat Mt. in search of some snow to play in. I'm attempting to talk Twistedimg into showing us around, but he's not sure if his schedule will allow it. Hopefully it will. :D

How does meeting at Gateway Starbucks (NE 102/NE Halsey) sound to those wanting to go? Any others interested? I was thinking of meeting at 9am. To early? Not early enough?

Already planning on a trip to TSF, sry I am out on this one and will be on another trip, it is ok i will post pix of my trip or you can come

sawedoff might want to go and I know I would love to but this weekend will be spent cutting my counter top to put in a new stove...might have to use a chainsaw to do it too!

The more the merrier. So far confirmed is myself, jpars, and pdxxjnoob. It's always more fun with more rigs. :D

i will know 100% if i can go sunday by sat night.... but if i cant , i am on break for the next 2.5 weeks so i can surely go on something.

i have heard a bunch about washougal.....a bunch of kids go up there to jump off the cliffs into the water, but i have heard there is some wheeling there?? it is farily close to portland isnt it, dont you just cross the river, get on some WA highway going east, and your there? whats it like?

Well guys, looks like I might have the day free. Was gonna spend it workin on the XJ but if I can get someone to watch the kid for a bit today I might work on her today so I can go play tommorrow. I have a click that I suspect is a u-joint somewhere but can't figure out which one. Don't have the time or money to start replacing them one at a time. I actually suspect it to be the one I replaced on the passenger side a couple months ago.

So anyways, which way you guys plan on goin up? Hillock Burn or Hunter? Has anyone else been up there before? Just so you don't get your hopes up too much there really aren't any trails up there, just logging roads with snow. A buddy went up last weekend and said there was plenty of it and since its basically been in the 20's all week I'm sure its still there.

PDXXJNOOB: you still runnin stock? Just kinda gettin a feel for whats goin up. I still have no tow points and very little tread left on the tires so I can't make it too deep. The lack of tread isn't an issue in the rocks and such but I've learned that in the snow I don't have much directional control. :)

Yeah man, I'm still all stock. jpars is stock too. I'm going to go to a parts yard today and see if I can find some tow hooks and hardware.

Ok, so is it just pdxxjnoob, myself, and Twistedimg? Jpars, will you be joining us? I'd just like to know, so we wait for you tomorrow.

Where do you want us to meet with you at Twistedimg? Would the Eagle Creek Chevron work ok?
