I built a lamps server with ubuntu on Saturday, installed MRTG, snmpd, snmp, configured it and added a bunch of host interfaces I wan to keep an eye on, now I have it monitoring a bunch of interfaces on the network, works great. Downside is the default display is 24 hour graph, then weekly, monthly then yearly as you drill down. I've searched and have not found how to get the default view to be one hour, THEN 24 hours. Any ideas. I've been poking around the mrtg.cfg and the other associated files, no joy yet.
Took me a while to figure out how to append new hosts without overwriting the .cfg file by >> on the config utility :D

I thought cricket superseded MRTG. I haven't tinkered with MRTG in years.

I use Cacti but I don't know if they support what you are asking for

I'm going to play with this for a while, then try some others packages. I'm monitoring about 20 interfaces now, got it down to a minute or two to add an new one, rebuild the .cfg and index files, NOW it's easy..... though the asa was a PIA till I got the syntax and order right.
Next comes adding disk, memory and cpu monitoring.
