Moving - CA to WA. Anyone work at truck rental company?

pancake....why ya movin, and where ya movin to?

well besides the fact that we arent in danger of either (1) breaking off and falling into the ocean, (2) burnt to a crisp by fires, or (3) washed away by mud? i think by far we're better off, even with a pissy ass mountain that cant decide what she wants to do. anybody been watchin the news? Alaska's got one like that now also. guess the pacific rim is really comin back to life.

isnt any problem where i'm from;) we dont get near enough rain off the eastern side of the mountains.

Moving for work. Rain is ok, but I do miss CA sometimes.
Your first lesson for living in the PNW;

If the clouds are high, it's going to rain.
If the clouds are low, it's going to rain.
If it's not raining, it's going to rain.
All major holidays, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, it's going to rain.
Summers are beautiful, but, if it's not raining, it's going to rain.

With this short lesson, you're now a qualified PNW meteorologist. From this day forward, you’ll always be able to predict the days weather, whatever it might be. :D

Second lesson: If you're moving here from out of state, STFU and accept things the way they are. Don't try to change it just because you don't like it. ;)

Amen to that.

I love all these Callie families that move next to a farm that has been there for 4 generations and gets it shut down because "they don't like the smell of cow poo"

Welcome Pancake. Oh and NEVER use an umbrella, it is a dead give away that your an outsider. :)

I wish I knew that before I moved to Utah......:gag:

Hey, I moved here(WA) from Utah(lived there for 28yrs), I was sick of the 5 degree 3ft snow winters, and the 113 degree ridiculous summers. I lived here(WA) for 1 yr, and couldn't stand the a$$hole people who don't like having friends, or making new ones. Then moved to Cali for 3yrs, and made alot of friends, but couldn't grasp the idea of buying half of a townhouse for $315k. So I moved back to here(buying a house for $160k with 2 acres in Gold bar), I just got over the fact that no-one is sociable, but I live 2 minutes from a place I can wheel whenever I want. Cali has great weather, but WA is truly home. No matter where you move, there will be something you won't like.

anderson, you try being in WA where i'm from. town of 90 people, most of them are related in some way shape or form, and if ANYTHING happens, the whole town knows about it BEFORE you get home. believe me, lots of rivalries, families dont like other families and make it their buziness to make life a living hell. but its all good, kids run around with no parents to supervise (and they dont get in trouble), dogs sleep in the street, cows come thru every so often, dogs and cats run rampant, and for the most part everyone is happy.

Actually, in Utah I lived in a town called Perry(outside Ogden, and Brigham city), there was like 1500, to about a couple thousand people, then I moved to a town called Deweyville(outside of Tremonton), which had about 300 people. Life in small towns is the same everywhere. I have lived in places from 300 to 10 million people. I just know that I have found more unsociable people here more than everywhere else.
