So as the bumblebee reached the end of its life i had been planning on three linking it and buggy'ing what was left of it but i still wanted a driveable all weather rig.... then this came up, the parting of the bumble bee paid for this, a waggy woody that with an hour or two of work was running and converted to an open cooling system.

the night i pulled it in the driveway

the rear is gonna sit down significantly its pulling the suspension up because of the way its supperted. im running the equivalent of 4 inch springs and a 2 inch shackle.

Sye and new 231 case to replace the busted 242 (note the daytona yellow, bumblebee lives on :) )

so thats where i am now.... links are getting built this week it should be driveable by weeks end.... btw if anyones got an old stock jeep radio theres a void in my dash that needs filled ;)

please tell me your keeping the wood on the exterior?? please please that would be awesome... paint i can understand if you wanted to update it but ... the wood... gootta stay :D

the wood is staying fo sho.... i thought about swapping for some manual doors but id rather solder plugs in the door harness than lose the wood :D

Sweet! It's good to see a new waggy build-up; 'it's the wood that makes it good'.

What's the goal for this build? (~6in, 35's, 44/44 locked, and street-able, I gather?)

One note; if you decide to swap in a gauge cluster with a tach, make sure you get the ~8 inch pigtail of the speedo cable with the new one (that cluster has some kind of f'ed up proprietary setup that I've never seen on any other XJ from 84-95).

P.S. The wood grain also does a great job at not showing trail rash/ pinstriping.

.

the goal is exactly that, around 6 inches and streetable, both 44's are already geared and locked from my last jeep (82 waggy front, 94 isuzu rodeo rear with factory disk brakes,5.13's and spools) im excited to see how well the axles do hooked up to a well performing suspension, they did great on leafsprings all around but this should be worlds ahead of that

wood wood wood morning wood hes a man and he loves his morning wood

Wow this thread was very well named. The title and this project have something in common: start off fun and don't last for long
