Beezil, KYChris, any other woodworkers, I finally got some pics of the basement that I've been working on, a little at a time, over the past year. It's finally almost done. 800 board feet of birch, lots of birch plywood, 3 sets of custom knives for my molder, probably a dozen jumbo hefty bags full of sawdust, slivers under my fingernails and other places, and it's all finally coming together. The painters did a great job with the staining, too.

The first 7 pics are of a small but fairly nice basement I did in November, but flip forward or do the slideshow, then the fancy basement ones start. Once they get their carpet and countertops, I'll get some more pics afer I do the finishing touches.
Hope y'all like it

Holy crap, John. That looks fantastic! The theatre is wicked. I can imagine all the molding you must have done. That is some sweet detail work.

I'm blown away!

super nice!

next time you think of it, I wouldn't mind seeing some "in action" pics of 'in da shop" when you are working on a project.

good stuff!

Wow! Very nice!

That looks great, John. Looks like one helluva basement...and gives me some ideas for the future. You might even be doing a bit of advertising here! Nice work.

Thanks for the compliments, guys. I've done some fancy stuff before, but not on this scale. I'm real glad I was working by the hour on this, because I know I wouldn't have priced it high enough. The crown was the major pain, since it was three pieces- one in back to pitch the bottom piece out at the proper angle from the wall, then the large top piece. Any slight deviation in the pitch and the miters and copes would be thrown off, so I did a lot of back and forth to the miter saws. Anyway, the customers are happy, now they're having me remodel their 3rd floor bathroom, build bookcases for the study, and redo their deck rail.

Beez, I know this is what you want to see http://www.cggschmidt.com/html/wandh.html
I'll be running a few hundred feet of crown molding sometime in the next few weeks, so when I'm scheduling it, I'll give you a call and see if you could come out and help me with it.
