I am kind of cross posting this from another board but we need to take notice and help out!

First, we lose 2,300 miles of routes in Eldo National Forest.

We just bent over and took it.

The, the ENTIRE forest was shut off to OHV use from December to april during the wet season, becuase we MAY do damage...so you can't drive on ANY dirt routes.

Bent over and took that one too..

Well now, this week...

We lose EVERY 4x4 route in the entire fawkin forest becuase the CBD sued the Forest Service. (With the exception of the Rubicon which is not on FS land)

Seriously...how much of this are we going to take?

May as well sell your junk now before prices start dropping.

We need the help from some big companies and who better to ask for help than Jeep with them having production vehicles geared toward our hobbie(ie: rubicon and their "trail rated" badge)? Many from another board have been making posts on Jeeps' facebook page asking for them to help in keeping public trails open to the public. Please take a minute and go over to Jeeps' facebook page and make a quick post asking for them for help.

Senator Ted Gaines comments on trail closures.

“Closing these trails for a solid year or more is absolutely the wrong approach,” said Gaines. “Off-roading is a major hobby enjoyed by people from across the country and is a contributor to our state and region’s economy. I don’t see why these trails, which have been used for decades, can’t remain open until the environmental study is complete.”

Senator Gaines plans to follow this issue closely and will share updates on the status of the final court order.

This is bad info, it's a good idea trying to spread the word, but don't spread bad info. The trails were closed in the winter so we don't get, lost, hurt, frozen in the snow, make large ruts which damage the ground. It's the winter, that's normal. With the 42 trails that were shut down, there still is some trails left. Basically the forest service was supposed to complete a few things by a certain date. Someone sued, judge believed the Eldorado Natl Forest service had not done as they were directed to. Some more studies of wetlands and grasslands is needed. As of now, only the trails associated with the meadows are closed for a one year minimum to finish the studies. It is bad news for us don't get me wrong, the groups trying to stop us are huge now. They don't want any OHV use around these meadows. And they don't want new trails made for us either. Well, we all need to help fight for this. I don't like seeing people complain about something if they don't do anything to help. Donate to the groups who are fighting this for us, volunteer on trails, tread lightly, pack out your trash, spread the word about what is going on, post links to good solid info. This stuff can't be taken lightly! We are loosing desert, dunes, and forest like crazy. Help fight the good fight, or don't even come to wheel.
