hey guys i'm new to the forum and new to the jeep thing i have 90 xj stock height just put on some bfg all terrains. looking for some local guys for info on some places for a beginner to do some muddin. i'm 24 and have a family and another car i'm building so the jeep isn't going to get to much attention mabye a lift. Who knows though i always go off the deep end with everything. anyways if there is anyone local who know of some spots drop a reply i'd like to check out some mud holes.

I went to Illinois last weekend and did some muddin it was a blast i was really surprised by my xj

let me know

Alot of the locals are at Winterfest this weekend in Attica, IN so you may not get many responses initially. I'm heading out shortly, as a matter of fact.

i looked at some of the winterfest stuff looks like fun a bit to serious for me i thing so far but it would be a blast

There may be a few straglers still there on Sunday but the bulk of the festivities will be Sat and Sat night. Attica is a good place for Jeeps of all capabilities.

I too am leaving for Winterfest shortly. I'm waiting a bit to leave in hopes of not getting stuck in Sh*tcago traffic.

If you cannot make it this weekend do not fret, prople go there all the time.

As far as I know there are no places to go Muddin in the greater Milwaukee area. Unless you know a farmer personally most of the land down there is privitely owned, or closed to motorized vehicles. You can go up to Crandon and wheel some mud but Attica is just as close. Though Crandon is much nicer to look at it is also much more boring IMHO.

What other kind of car you putting together?

I have a 97 civic hatchback that i did a motor swap ecu swap and big brake upgrade also turbocharged

I KNOW a civic i'm not your typical "ricer" though

i'm more of an automotive enthusiast i've gone from my 79 malibu to a 78 cutlass to a 67 camaro to a 99 dakota r/t to hondas now it's dabling in cherokees seems fun so far so its prettymuch anything fun no discresion

Sorry I'm big time anti ricer. Aside from being Japanese I've never quite understood the whole ricer thing. Yes there are a handfull of fast ricers but in nearly all cases it just takes way too much money to go fast in them. $400 for cams???? $500 for 4 pistons? By the time your done "building" a ricer you could have done an old school 5.0L for half the price and beat that Honda all day long, even on track day. Give me an old school V8 in a small light chassis over a ricer any day.

Anyway, it's your car and your money so have at it man. Lots of people do it so there must be something to it, I just don't get it and likely never will. It's all good though.

i was the same way for years and yes it is quite expensive to even come close to the v8 cars i have been thinking of getting out of it for that reason i got a baby to take care of and cash is runnin thin. I hear your point 100 percent its just a new challenge to me i like pulling up to the XXXXy guy in the camaro and whipping him red . its like a high to me

BTW cams for my engine run over 800 bucks for the pair
its insane like i said i'm the typical high school kid ricer though no 3 foot spoilers on front drive cars for me

its tempting to get out just haven't been able to yet the japs got me hooked
