Me

I will be attending a "Town Hall" meeting on Saturday night after the trail cleanup.

And before you ask...I fully support (as in attending everyone of them) the trail adoption and continued support at Redbird.

There is only one Rev, and that is who I endorse for the Vice President position for the Midwest Chapter.

REV has one flaw..............:smsoap:

he isnt running for President.

Honestly, REV has my support no matter what direction in life he chooses.

Rev is...well, he's Rev. And we love him.

Rev, you have done a great Job as VP over the past few years, I will continue to support you. You're a great guy that has done a lot for this chapter, I thank you!

Thanks guys.

As far as who I support, I will refrain from publicly supporting anyone as I do not want my feelings to influence the membership.

I have a question for all those running for an elected position on the MWC BOD:

With the MWC being one, if not the, most fiscally sound chapters of NAXJA, there is a decent amount of chapter funds that sit idle through the majority of the year. Now granted some of those funds are needed to put deposits in place for Winterfest or prepaying for shirts, hats, stickers, and available for matching funds programs from National, but the remainder of the funds are rarely tapped into. What are your thoughts of using some of those additional funds to "sponsor" a few "mini non-official" events split up across the chapter due to our overall size and locals? These funds could be used to help with food, firewood, minor prizes in the event of a drawing or raffle setting etc.

This was something I struggled with as the President. I wanted to give more back to the Chapter and these funds are the Chapters funds, belonging to the Chapters members....so why not come up with a way to "spread the wealth"?

Please discuss.

I can see that.

However.....WF is going to get more expensive and we need to make sure we can handle the front money for that. As long as the WF expenses are handled, I think it is a great idea to help out the "non-official" events.

I have no problem supporting regular updates on the financial status of the chapter.

Monthly may be a bit excessive as nothing much happens until WF, however quarterly may work.

Just so we are clear, any chapter support of non-official events needs to go through the proper channels and be brought before the board.

I think it would be a great idea to have a 2nd event further West. That said......it would need to depend on members in that area willing to step up to getting it going, just like WF started.

Actual full scale events are a BUNCH of work, that is one of the reasons CarnageFest has never been "official". Of course there is nothing saying a new event needs to be full scale right off the bat, maybe just a daylong wheeling trip, potluck dinner, etc.

Actually.....I think I remember Cheesedude saying something about a park opening near him....

We work for you all, if you want it, and will support it, we can do it. This BOD has never said no to any request that the membership supports.
