Got the housing back today. Need to find the time now to get the gears installed. Maybe if I'm lucky I'll have this thing rebuilt before the 1 year anniversary of the breakage..............:D

Re: !Makin' Progress

so how long was it gone and what did you have done to it?

Re: !Makin' Progress

It's about time... Geez DJ you have been messing around with that thing for long enough. Everytime I go over to Troy's he has to trip over that dam thing to get me parts... Good to see you might get it done... Haven't you been down since I towed your rig in to CO last year???

Then ya didn't go over very often..................;)

I haven't been "down" since then, but yes, I've been 2wd ever since then. We swapped in a D35 to get me back on the road. And I cringe everytime I glance at it. On all three of my XJs, I never had a D35, they all came factory 8.25. So it was a sad day when I actually had to swap one in. So yeah, it's taken a while. So my only goal at this point is to have it in before the April Chinamans run. And even then, probably won't have the locker hooked up.

Sand Blasted and Powder Coated, 'bout a week.

how much did that run ya. I'll be bringin in mine here to the shop to sandblast it but I'm not going the PC direction. We use some HD epoxy's here at the shop with big time UV ratings and I'm going to have the guys hit it with that stuff. Same as my bumpers and rockers.

My axles at Coop's shop aren't in the way... I hid them under a International Scott... And we all know that thing will never move... :laugh2:
