Maine Meeting !!!

hey just to clarify...... IM sooo SORRY for stomping on everyone toes. i did not make this out to be any way against anybody and infact was only trying to make this a team effort. seriously after reading all the posts and pm's i have recieved. im seriously so sorry for excluding any one in any shape, way or form. I apologize specially in to grizzely who tried to make something happen earlier, for any fact i would love to make this part of the naxja meet and great. i would hope that you read earlier and said that it had to be legal wheeling. thats fine, but should of been kept seperate and not associated with naxja. i thought that would be something optional. and like i said anyone is free to come. im sorry and i feel like such a jerk over this. Hey im new and young here, and still learning. ok so im sorry and i truly support this club in everyway shape and form. i just wanted to make this clear to EVERYONE, that this little meet and great got out of hand. i hope that this can be taken with full considerations to the BOD OF NAC. i was only trying to help and never did i think this would become such a big deal. im sorry and i apologize but i would love for something to still work out and be able to make this happen. and yes i will support anyone who wants to come. i just put somthing out there cuz someone mentioned something about a meet and great in the area. that is only what i wanted to help out.
 
Ya I'm not sure what all the hoop-laa is about. This forum is just a central location for everyone to "meet". So should this be marketed as an official "NAXJA Event", no, and I dont think it was put like that. And I didn't get the impression that state were excluded.

But I dont see a problem with putting a post up about
"Hey, if you live in this general direction then go here and meet up". No ones stepping on anyones toes, just a chance to see some of the new local faces before someones big-hurah event. No hurt feelings over this... I'm still up for meeting in Augusta if you guys want to.
 
yes and i think you hit the target right on. but i had a few concerns with this thread so i had to make it clear. and i am still supporting.

so it sounds like 2 pm is good in the walmart center. good what day thats all we need

saturday or sunday? figure it out and let us know.

if needed should we move this thread somewhere else i would love to have this happen but like i said before, i didnt want to make this such a big deal as it seemed to be taken as. sorry i apologize.

oh also NO WHEELING since this is takening place on the boards here. cuz i dont want anyone or any thing to come back as being a NAXJA event or sponsored or anything else in that category. just the meet and great. you can do that on your own time and/or seperate.
 
I just wanted to take a second and chime in on this whole situation, which has seemed to strike a few nerves for some reason. First off, I personally want to thank the entire NAC BOD for all the work that they do that often goes unnoticed and unappreciated. They all put a lot of their own personal time into NAXJA and the NAC and that should be appreciated more often. I have been following both the "meet and greet" threads since they started up and after looking back on this thread, it is true that several statements probably should have been worded a little differently, but I don't think jeepmanxj94 directly intended to "step on toes" or "divide the chapter", which is obviously seen by his above apology. This whole Maine M&G, in my opinion, was never meant to alienate any one state or any one person from attending. This was simply started for a few Mainers to meet in a central Maine location, while the bigger NAC M&G was still being planned. Again, maybe statements should have been worded a little different, but I hate to see the whole chapter M&G suffer just because of this. I was really disappointed to see because of this Maine M&G that Grizzley has shut down the chapter M&G until later this year. I hope that nobody's pride was hurt by this and that the whole chapter will not suffer because of this whole "ordeal". I still fully support a larger chapter M&G, but I also still support this Maine M&G and am happy to help out with both however I can as I feel both are really what NAXJA is all about. So hopefully everyone can pick up their pride and we can move on....

Just my .02 as a NAC and NAXJA member...
 
We understand that we have alot of new members that dont understand how certain things are done, but you can't just jump on something someone else started and change everything about it. GRIZZLEY worked hard on what he was putting together, how about the concideration for his work.

We understand members are anxious and willing to meet other members, but please follow up with whom ever started the initial "event". As to not have this happen in the future.

I didnt know those of us from/near central maine were trying to change the NAXJA meet and greet? All this is was just a hey we all kinda live near a centralized location. We should meet up sometime. All is welcome.

I know it would make going to the NAXJA events down south much easier on me if I met some of the people around here to travel down with. Plus its always cool to meet other people who enjoy our sport.

This wasn't intended to be a northern NAC meet & greet that I was aware of. Those of us who have been tring to meet up in this area also posted in the NAC meet and greet thread, trying to give ideas on where to go, etc.

So why all the competition?
 
I understand Iam not a payin member of NAXJA. But When my self and Andy (jeepman) came up with the idea of the jeep meeting. We had no intent to step on any one toes. We just wanted to get a bunch of jeeps to hang out and possibly wheel LEGAL land. I my self have access to private land.

I have read this site for quite a while and I respect Grizzly and strocker for all there help and guideing to the site. Thats why at no piont did we want to step on any one toes agian we just wanted to get some jeeps together. We were aware to the pior thread but we thought we would refersh it and see if any one wanted to gether soon.

That is worded perfectly, because that is all it was...No one was trying to change anything about all the work Grizzley was putting into the NAC M&G...and as I mentioned before...I am very appreciative of all the work the NAC BOD does to make our chapter of NAXJA great...I think all this was a huge misunderstanding and a lot of prides were hurt...hopefully everyone will see that this was never intended to do that...just a small gathering between jeepers....that's it....

hey thanks for justifying the cause here cuz there was no way we wanted to take this away from others. especially the other thread and its meaning. this was blown i thought way out of portion. I have complete and utmost respect for the NAC BOD and thier true support of making this a better place. i wanted to get together with others. thats all. call me new but've been around this site for a long time and just didnt post up or comment on things. is the post count important to all you guys out there? im just saying this is what it was meant to be not what a lot of people took it as. sorry. so take this for what it is.

can we get a time for this meeting. and who all is in still?
saturday march 4th at 2pm in augusta ? post up and say if this is a good time.
 
i live 10 minutes away so if my heep has a windshild and the roof pushed back up by them i'll stop by. my lisence suspension is up that day too and it'd be real nice to get out in the jeep again

Any idea where to head after we meet? Im assuming its gonna be to cold to sit in the parking lot...
 
I'm down for the 4th still. There has to be a Friendlys or Applebees in the area we can go eat at, I know the area a little bit, and may have a friend with me who lives there.

So Wal-Mart 2pm on the 4th?
 
I know theres an olive garden, the guy I work with thinks theres an applebees too.
 
yeap sounds good try for the Saturday of March the 4th. outside of walmart in augusta. im not too fimilar with the area as well and i think there will be enough places that we can find to go to and chill inside instead of being outside. sorry for the confusion. let me know who all can come to this meet and great and see whats up.
 
well it looks like we are going to have a good group. this saturday March the 4th is gonna be the m/g day. let us know if you are good for that date. if really needed then we could have it on Sunday let me know. but for right now it looks like it going to be The 4th @ 2pm.
 
Killin me andy I wanted to go ice fishing that day in the new shanty. Well I will see what I can do wana car pool? Or do I have to take my own rig 2 hahaha. Guess I got to being it is a jeep thing. Boy do i hate being broke as F--k.

Hey guys I am new to Maine and new to NAXJA. Just came upon this post at the right time I guess. I wish I could make it but I have to work sat. night in Portland. Sounds like its gonna be a good time though. I just bought my first XJ. Its a 2001 Sport with about 50,000 miles on it. Currently it is as stock as it gets besides the window tint, which now has to be removed becuase I failed inspection. But the lift kit is coming and at some point if anyone is interested I might need some help on installing it. Its always nice to have an extra set of hands. Well guys enjoy the get together and hopefully Ill catch the next one. Take it easy.

Well, Grizzley's idea was SOUTHERN Maine or New Hampshire, which I could have made coming up from Connecticut. Suddenly you set it up for Augusta, which is at least 300 miles and a 6+ hour drive for me. That ain't gonna happen.

I realize that I'm only a charter member and the ex-president of this cahpter, but it seems to me that when an officer starts working on something, the appropriate response is either "Yes, I'll be there" or "Sorry, I can't make it this time." You don't grab the ball and try to run in the opposite direction with it. The NAC has been actively trying to get things going in Maine for several years. We had one event on Mount Desert a couple of years ago, and we had more people show up for it from out of state than we did from Maine.

It's GREAT to see more members in Maine, and it's even better to see interest in having activities in my favorite state. But it's just not polite to hijack the official efforts to make things happen for you. That's not teamwork, that's anarchy.

it wasnt meant to be takened the way it was. it was just a bunch of guys that were like hey we live near each other...... hey lets get together. so it was a informal event not really meant or aimed to be offical naxja meeting for nac. it just soo happened that it was takened that way and im sorry for the way it was handled and written, for it certainly wasnt the most appropriate things to say or really to type. i aim certainly a team member and i dont want people to think that im not !!! i think this was a learning experience especially for me as a newer person and well i was never expecting the reaction it got from others because i never thought it was that big of a deal or event. i respect all the nac bod's and especially someone as experienced as you. Now that i know how things are done here. i can learn from this and treat new things with more experience. One thing i dont want to do is leave anyone with a bad taste in their mouth WITH ME, or more importantly the club or nac. we should come together like you said and others to form a better nac and club as a team and no anarchy.
