thats got nothing on the W.O.W. crowd. world of warcraft, its just outright awful how bad people can be addicted to that game.

Truly sad...

A perfect hobby for the socially inept and hapless...

Although adding a few paintball guns would make it livelier...

"Reality" is the only word in the english language that should always be used in quotes...

'Tragic: This Gathering'.

And I say this as someone who is geeky enough to display the fact on both his licence plate and bumper stickers.

:D

Used to in college. Then I discovered the chicks liked the drunk dude up on the roof alot better than the Magic geeks locked in the dorm common room.

I played an extremely ugly Red and blue denial deck. Probably have around 500 cards left somewhere in the house. Will trade for Jeeps.

A friend of mine got my brother and I into it. We would go to his place or meet up with another friend of ours once every month or two last year. Didn't play to seriously, mostly just caught up with each other and reminisced "old" times. Last time we got together was around December?

Where were you 5 years ago? The even had a Dateline NBC "special" about it-a bunch of 15-25 year olds who blew off "real life" so they could stay in their parents basement all day playing Everquest. If I remember correctly, characters had to develop skills over time so people bought/sold sell their character on Ebay. Now thats tragic.

Anyway I'm kind of surprised that college age guys are into Magic, it was popular (to use the term VERY liberally, I never got into it) when I was in the 8th grade... so a decade ago.

When I was in the fifth grade, me and a bunch of my friends decided that video games (super nintendo then) were a waste of time so we swore them off. In retrospect, a surprising thing for a group of 5th grade boys come up with on their own. To this day none of us ever got into console games. I know its just a game so, don't take it personal but I think Magic is the same way- theres got to be something better to do.

Yes there is...

Sex...

Drugs...

Sex...

Rock and Roll...

Sex...

Motorsports...

Sex...

Guns...

Sex...

Food...

Sex...

Bonus points if you can combine all those into a single event

Nothing personal taken... It's just a thing we all get together on thursday nights, and play. It's just for fun and believe it or not, it's more challenging than you guys think it is. There's nothing else to do on tuesday night when everybody is either doing homework or still drunk from the party on saturday night.

edit: I go to a tech college in the northeast... 'nuff said.

If a card game doesn't involve money and poker chips or some other guys girlfriend and clothes coming off- or better yet a blend of the two ... I aint playin

So... tuesday AND thursday nights thats twice a week. Now its, its official... dork alert... dork alert...
Just messin with ya, anyway spend your free time however you want. I'm just trying to say that if you go announce youre a big fan of this game youre going to get some :wierd:  :laugh2: wierd looks from people.

Oh and yes if a card game doesn't involve a possible cash prize or possible loss of clothing it isin't so challenging, fun or rewarding is it... come on you know the answer...
