Ok almost have my front axle out, but those lower control arm bolts are TIGHT! Any advice as how to get them out by yourself, don't have any help for a while.

Thanks

PB blaster ot Used ATM fluid will help. A breaker bar and wrench help a lot. If they still will not budge use a piece of pipe and square tube as a helper to get some leverage.

Yah I just shot them with some PB so we'll see if that helps. Think I'm going to wait until tomorrow to give it another whack.

If you don't have access to air, this is key.

grind the nut off...

Personally, I prefer to keep hardware in it's original state, so that it can be used again. And I'm pretty sure he does too.

Breaker bar is the key. I know i've dropped the ball on getting down there to help you. If I get a free weekend in the next couple of weeks i'll be down there for sure!

Oh no worries on the help, lifes are buzyyyyyy. My brother is coming in town, doesn't know crap about cars but he can hold a wrench.

When I stripped the axle out of the front of the MJ and XJ i put a good strong adjustable wrench on the inside and used a 3' 1/2" drive breaker bar with a deep well socket. Wasn't fun making all those small turns with a long breaker but it eventually got it loose enough to use a regular wratchet on.

grind it off... replace bolt and nut with grade 8 quality.
no waiting.. no fat mamas... ZIIIiiiiiip ... Blinnnnnggg and ZAAAaaapola.. Done!

Jack handle, that's one of those multi-use tools. I've used mine for all kinds of jobs.

So you got it all installed?

Nah, I'm going to be doing a build thread here in a bit.

I got the old axle all out. Now I'm putting the new in but they left the control arm bolts on it so I have to get those off. Moving a bit slow as its a one person operation.

Ever find access to a transmission jack so we can swap them out easily?

Nope not yet. I did get a new floor jack which has a 4 inch plate so if three people are there it should be able to balance on wood pretty easy. If it sucks I may just buy an adapter from Northern.
