I'm really glad I added a few more layers to mine.

I've been thinking about adding to mine aswell. Got a few spots that are there for draining that I might cover up and or just toss on some thicker metal. Got one of those stock mopar ones for cheap years ago when they closed out the mopar xj section. I've been pretty impressed for howthin it is but thought about adding to it a bit.

Yeah, we've seen a few of these in Jeffco too. With so many newer vehicles having plastic tanks, drilling and draining is gonna be pretty easy.

Might need to fab up a cover for my Dodge Cummins....... and get some locking gas caps.... Full tank costs me $150!!!

I covered the drains in the bottom. The front drains now exit the side of the skid, kinda hard to see in the pic.

If I did another, I'd save a few square inches of sheet metal, but still cover the big drain holes. The two layers add up to 1/4" more thickness. It went up with a floor jack, fit right over the factory tow hitch. It has taken a few pretty healthy hits with minimal damage. I'm happy with it.

Well after reading this last night I went out to the garage and started to tinker around with the other gas tank skid I bought back in the day for the 98 and never put on. Keep looking for a hitch to go with it. (NO IT’S NOT FOR SALE) Well it’s pretty much a solid section under it and the draining is out the front side of the skid and they could get to it but it would be kind of hard. I’m thinking of welding on a plate around the front of it just to limit the little access to that part as possible.

Not so much to shoot them but a slow shocking electical death or stunning would be cool they make contack to that skid with a drill or punch and ZAP!!!!!!!!!!!!! not that would be funny chit right there.

SUV's and any tall rig are ideal for this sort of theft. Too bad we can't shoot the fookers.

If I catch some piece of SH#T stealin my gas, some broken bone will be the least I can do for them:mad:

i'll be able to shoot one for you. could just blame it on flash backs, or play the PTSD card too. :explosion

That's probably a good idea. Normally P-N-S totally trashes the tank skids. I have this one because somebody got lazy and punched the tank through the drain holes.

I took a little better picture of the front.

It seems to drain pretty well.

Hopefully it's enough to make a would-be thief keep moving along.

I need to take pics of my skid. It looks different than alot of the stock 97+ XJ that came with them from the factory but I like it and it's worked great so far.
