I say this without meaning any ill will - best of luck to you. It is a 7+ hour drive from San Jose to Lone Pine (most of our members are north of San Jose by at least an hour or two, many are even farther), and then it is probably a good couple of hours to get to your vehicle. Then to dig it out (assuming no more snow falls between now and then) and drag it down the hill is an adventure and another bunch of hours assuming that things go really well.

Its even a 4-hour drive even from Fresno. I think your best bet is to find a couple guys in Bakersfield where the drive is only 3 hours and pay them very well to tow you out. If it was me, I'd offer $1000 plus gas to any group that can get me out depending on how much you need that vehicle before next April.

Oh yeah, I definitely don't expect anyone to drive that far. Someone just told me there are some people in Bishop and Lone Pine area that are members here as well. To get to the vehicle from Lone Pine, doesn't take more than 15 minutes. The lower portion of the road is dry; it's only about a mile of snow that is problematic.
