Semi built or stock most likely. Mostly he said a good dd that could do some mild offroading.

If he could dig up another $1k ive got something he wouldnt need to do any work to, would probably go for 4-4.5k on craigslist
edit: Good DD + XJ dont really go together, but if he is only DDing a short distance that would work. I drive it 400 miles in a day and 75 MPH regularly when day tripping to tahoe

I'll let him know. Doesn't have to be a XJ though. Anything that holds 5 people and has a decent 4x4 capability are what he's after. 4runner, XJ, blazer, etc. he's not into crawling but does like to drive to the mountains regularly year round. Sometimes take a rough forest road to camp secluded.
