Long arm tech...Y link VS 3 link?...

I've been wondering about this for a while now, and finally decided to make a thread about it. I have noticed that there are a couple different types of front long arm systems out there, most notably the Y link which has the upper links attached to the lower arms, and then the 3 link style like RK's.

What is the most preferable system in terms of design, geometry, handling, comfort...ect?

I can see the 3 link design having a caster variance that is very close to stock, where as the Y link would just be a fixed castor depending on how far the axle droop is. Discuss...

first of all, this is NOT advanced fab/engineering. Second, there are tons of threads discussing these very issues in modified tech. This thread may get you started:

Interesting...I thought this forum included topics related to "engineering." huh. I guess suspension design, and theory of both designs isn't engineering related.

That thread didn't answer any of my questions.

are you fabbing them, or engineering a new setup? if no, then this IS the wrong forum, take some time and search around, this has been covered about 8,000,000,000,001 times.
good luck...
