I just read this in the Gilpin County news dated 11/23/06.
FSR 701.2 from Alice to the Loch is closed for motorized trafic (except snowmobiles) until spring.
Per Ranger Daniel Lovato of the Clear Creek District
"The new seasonal closure is necessary so that motorized use can occure safely without damage to the tundra. The two gates allow us to open sections of the road as soon as it is dry enough for travel."
The FS will also close an illegal drift bypass route and improve road drainage.
This FSR is located near Idaho Springs, CO.
