Local Roof Rack builder?

Hey guys, just got my first XJ a couple weeks ago, pretty stoked, its a 99. Wanted it for family getaways, expeditions. One thing I know I need already is a roof rack/basket. Found a company in San Diego on CL that builds them, Metalfabworks.com, was wondering if any of you have dealt with them before...are they reputable?

Thanks, Any input on the subject is welcome.

Sorry if this is tech, I just want some local knowledge.

Well I went to Outdoor Logics website, the impression I got was they are not a very Jeepcentric company, meaning they advertised doing work on Ford, Toyota, Nissan. Jeep was not even mentioned. I guess I will have to talk to Jimmy, maybe he will put my concerns to rest. Lol

he owns an XJ and started out building XJ stuff. his site is geared towards the other trucks because that's where the money is, jeepers are cheap bastards

I guess I'm no exception. My favorite rack that I've come across is a Gobi Stealth, but I'll be damned if I'm payin $1500.00 for a rack.

Just call Jim dude. He's a jeeper and most of the stuff in his shop are jeeps. Other trucks are on his site to get business attention. Trust me Jim builds bad ass shit. Hes done work for me and I was more than happy. His prices were ridiculously cheap too.

I came across someone over in la verne area who was doing built-to-order racks, seemed sorta pricey (base rack, no options no mounts) was $250.

Yeah that guy is all over craigslist. I've never dealt with him but i always see the ads.
