Little custom roof rack action

Not real extreme but here it is...This is a one off I did for Jeff (nitrospeed racing).

He wanted a rail that ran the length of the rack, and so I stepped up to build it.

Basically, this is a Warrior rack with 6 gutter mounts instead of the normal 4, and a special outer clamp piece that merges them all together. This was a pain to make, but it looks really sharp

Anyways, the outer pieces were cut to length and I sheared a taper into the ends. Then I tossed them in the CNC Turrett and snuck some 1.25" holes into it. Finished them off in the press break, and had the clamping tabs welded on. Then off to powdercoat!

It was dark out, and I don't get many opportunities to see Jeff's Jeep, so unless he takes some better ones, this is all I got.

looks pretty slick, good work on the outer clamp piece, it finishes things off nicely.

i noticed the limb risers are attached to the rack as well.
it looks like they contact the roof above the windshield.
is there anything there to help out with that contact?

uhh...they contact his plastic visor, but he has them vinyl dipped so they're pretty soft.

I did notice he's worn a little groove into his visor, but I think he's ok with that.
