Lil Timmy's new addition...

Yeah, the lights and the headlight bezels will come out no problem. Also, the grille itself will come out, but the grille surround will not... unless you take a cutoff wheel to the welds.

Should still be able to pull the motor out. In all actuallity, if the grille just unbolts and slides forward and then up, it will still come out. as long as it doesn't have to go more than 1/2" forward. And... you can get the 4.0's out without pulling the grille support, you have to pull the balancer off though and its a VERY tight fit, but I have done it before.

looks..."interesting" for a dd.... cant wait to see what it will look like in the end... is he planning on making this a full time trail rig or what? thats alot of added weight to be pushing around town.

but thats just my opinion.

nice rockers i had contemplated doing it that way but i choose to use 2x4 and 2x3
can kinda see it in this pic

i ended up later adding frame support pieces using notched 2x2 that also tie into my cage plates through the floor.

tyler what kind of bender are you using?

I use a JD Squared model 3 bender. It should look really sick when it's all done, which will hopefully be pretty soon. As far as weight, you would be surprised... the rockers only weight about 150 lbs, but we removed about 75-80 lbs with the removal of the JCRs. Also, all the tubing that we added is less than 100 lbs, probably about 75... one person can handle it on their own. This is still his daily driver, but he wanted to be able to wheel it with less likely hood of tearing it up. The B pillar bars will tie into the rockers as well as the floor, and the c and d pillars will be external and tie into the rear bumper and the rocker. Its all in my head, just have to put it together when he brings it back.

nice bender my buddy just got one

Yeah, I wanted the air over hydraulic, but it was too much doe right now... and besides, when I'm bending tube, Ill also be working out haha! God knows I need to.

Someday I'm sure I'll upgrade mine to the hyro, but it may be a while. I hear you can do it with a cylinder from harbor freight.

working out isnt a bad thing! haha....

Call this a newb question but I see those plates on the Rear Quarters all the time... I assumed they are just for damage control on those quarters...I understand the driver side...to prevent the filler neck from getting crushed. Correct?

I have that air over hydraulic cylinder from harbor freight on my bender, makes life a LOT easier and its pretty cheap from HF. I used to have a manual cylinder and it seemed like I was pumping that biotch forever.

Cool! Anybody know roughly how much they are? And do they keep them in stock? I know a guy that works at harbor freight. I could most likely get it for cost.

Those are Thor Corner guards on the back... they were put on to cover up a scuff that was on the drivers side, and because they look pretty cool. I like how those replace the factory tail lights. They will be under tubing here in a couple weeks though.

I dont use the JD2 though, I made my bender from the Gotrike plans a few years ago. Not sure if its the same, but the cylinder in the pictures posted look exactly like mine.

Wow between work and school i dont get to get on here much. Cant believe all the post already. Thanks for the compliments shes my baby! Im glad we ended up going with the 2x8, more door protection and its proportional. The rocker replacement is awesome and is alot easier than i thought it would be. As for the tube work props to Tyler and Doug nicely done fellas. O and thanks for coming down Doug! It all came together nicely and fast. We kinda had a deadline and on sunday even my girl pitched in to do a little sanding, thanks babe! And just a side note Nates 4x4 bumpers suck IMO! Tyler you need to get ya a prototype bumper made up for the XJ, I know it would be sick. And as for daily driving its fine. Ive been dd it since iv had it. its geared so mpg isnt absolutely terrible. And the tube didnt weigh much at all. She will be a trail rig only one day but shes just getting broke in with a 100,000 miles.
