I had a big project last semester to ask 50 peeps who had gone to what college, what they majored in, and who actually works in the feild they studied in..

Thought I'd see the responses on here...

Sorta, school emphasis was in water/wastewater treatment and conveyance, I now deal in structures.

Im still in school so no career yet, but I have an intership the revolves around project management for water/sewer so I'm heading in the same direction as my major.

Missouri State University (AKA SMSU back in the day)

BA in Agronomy-Emphasis in Soil Science
MA in Nutrient Management

I started our of college as an agronomist for Archer Daniels Midland and did that for about 3 years or so and then I got on with the Feds. I am now with the USDA/NRCS and use my schooling everyday. I also have in conjunction with my in-laws a 3000 acre farm/ranch. We row crop approx 1000 acres and run approx 500 head of cattle and we have 2 confinemet hog facilities that house 2400 head each. So to answer your question "do I work in my related degree field"..YES!!! Both during my monday-friday job as well as every day of the week running a farm.
