Lift question

I have a 3" Rusty's front lift and a 3" Rough Country rear lift(in which I will be picking up soon). In addition to this, I have the 3" AAL from the Rusty's kit. My questions are... will I need to extend my brake lines? Will I need to bumpstop with stock tires for the time being (I'm going to go with 31 or 33 eventually)? My stock rears are sagging, would it be worth it to get the Rough Country packs, or keep the stocks and go with my AAL, or go RC with the AAL? I searched for answers to these questions, but really couldn't find anything on here.

I'll answer what I know. I would always replace the leaf springs in a lift. I didn't because of the price. I will be replacing my rear springs with AAL with full leaf replacements soon. Currently I am planning on getting the 4.5" RC leafs.

In my opinion, I would do it right the first time so no money is wasted along with wrenching time. Get new leaf packs.
I don't think you will need to bumpstop but possibly extend your brake lines if you plan on wheeling where you will need to flex the suspension.

You can either straighten out the metal line where it meets the rubber line going to the caliper and reattach it to get a couple of inches or just get some stainless steel brake lines that are longer and be done with it. HTH

I installed the 3" Rough Country AAL lift w/31's; here's what I've experienced. First, my stock leafs were not sagging. I originally ordered the full leaf, but they were out of stock, so they sent the extra leaf with the kit. Since then, I've received the full leafs (actually like a week after I got it kit on) and plan on swapping it out, but I was too impatient. Anyway, I did not extend the brake lines and have had no problems. I do need to reposition the emergency brake line, but there's plenty line left. I did not install bump stops, but plan on doing so on the front because at full flex, I do hit (sometimes hard). Also, my front tires rub on the control arm when at full turn, so I need to adjust the set screw (I was just shown yesterday, so I doubt I can explain it). Again, all of this is based on my 31's, so I'm not sure how your stock tires will be affected. I can also tell you I'm totally satisfied with the Rough Country kit. I agree with woody; if I had to do it over, I would have waited just so I didn't have to do it again. If you have any other questions feel free to contact me. I can't promise the right answer, but I'll do my best! Good luck to you.

Thanks, guys. I already rub stock, although I've never seen a pre-97 XJ that didn't rub and squeal at semi-tight turns. I was thinking of doing the 3" lift and cutting to fit 33"s at some point, but will probably go to 31" for now. Jason, how wide are your tires? Anyone know how safe I'll be with stock tires on a 3" lift for a few months?
