Lift Points

Jeep engines know little about but have worked with race car engines (my own) since 1965 and even as an 18 yr. old kid I knew better than using a Harmonic Balancer as a jacking point.

Much less a Fluiddamper, TCI Rattler or any of the other race balancers. I can't believe anybody would put that in print and even more anyone that read it would be stupid enough to do so. Well wait I misspoke myself anyone that knew anything about engines and how they work would. If they gave $3500 or so for a rotating assembly they sure as hell wouldn't get that jack even a foot away from it
In this day and time I guess nothing should surprise me, a lot of water has passed under the bridge in the last 66 yrs.

My apologies to iluv83vettes. It does say that but it is most definitely a really bad thing to do.

Thank you. I'm glad to know now that the FSM is incorrect in some instances.

No problem. Yea just when you thought you could really trust the FSM.

I'm just glad that every RMS I have done was on a Jeep that was already lifted so I had clearance to get the pan out and never did that.
