I picked up an Itronix GoBook II IX260 (ruggedized laptop from General Dynamics) off ebay and the battery is shot. I spent a good 30 minutes searching the intarwebs and can only find 2 on ebay.

Anybody know of a good source for laptop batteries? I did a google search on "laptop battery" and visited the first 15 or so sites plus a couple of the sites with paid ads but couldn't find any batteries for this thing. I've got a A/C power adapter but I'd like to get a little use out of it without being tethered to the nearest plug.

are you searching for the battery by the laptop name or by the partnumber on the battery? You may not find it with the brand, but I am sure something else uses a similar battery.

I searched for the part number on the battery (P16D-M / 23-050190-00), but didn't have any luck. Somewhere, I found a crossreference number for an HP battery (DW384A), and another crossreference for that one (PR783A). I found 2 or 3 listings for those, but prices were crazy (200+).

yea, they are not cheap. I have pretty much started using mine as a couch computer. The battery life lasted through my last 2 years of college at about a 5hr battery. ut ever since I stopped having to run it without the cord and have just left it on, the battery has dropped to a little over an hour.

Check out the thinkpad forum, there are a couple of guys on there that rebuild the battery packs for IBM's and a few others.

I did find a couple rebuild/refill sites, but didn't want to mess with sending it out and waiting for it to get back. :)

I got lucky and just found another HP laptop (NR3600/3610) that uses the same battery and found several on ebay listed for the 3610. Doesn't list a part number so they didn't come up in previous searches. I'm gonna try to pick one or two of those.
