Lots of progress made on the trail this weekend. I kind of wanted to get away for a night, and was itching to get back down to the area, so I headed down to camp out Friday. Those Guys managed to track down a bulldozer equipped with rippers. Friday the plan was to rip as much road as possible before more equipment arrived the next day.
Ryan was a machine and just kept ripping road well into the night. The bulldozer didn't have any lights so (Pat) TonkaYJ and I were his lights. We got a system down, and were able to make quite a few passes.
The next morning quite a few more volunteers showed up. Chris donated his time and his excavator for the day. This thing was able to move some serious dirt, and really helped push the project forward.
We had people running the trail all throughout the day. Here's Kyle running being the guinea pig on the newly constructed "v-notch".
A Big Hole.
I'm already looking forward to the next time I can get back down there. I encourage everyone to try and make it out and lend a hand or make a donation. As far as I know work parties will be happening every weekend through October.
