KOH 2013 "Stock" build

Oh Douglass... lol

They most expensive part of the build is going to be all of the safety crap that we have to have. Im just posting up because we are really looking for used parts that we can get for a good price. I'll probably be picking up our roller on Christmas eve. Its an 01 with no motor, supposedly light front end damage, and a few other missing parts. It has no interior (which we don't need anyway) and the steering column was swapped to the "old style" but as long as it works I don't really care. Bad part is that the paint isn't even close to matching as the doors and hood are all different colors (want to paint it mango tango anyway), and the axles are the LPD30 and C8.25, neither of which are sufficient for what we want. Got plenty of time to fix the little issues though.

im bringing you a front hp housing if you want one.

im bring one to doug as well.

Haha thanks a bunch David!

I guess good news is that all of the good parts on the LPD30 will swap right over to the HP housing, so that gets us into a high pinion for basically free. Gonna have to buy gears, install kit, and a locker either way, so might as well be a good HP housing.

Everyone on.Davids Christmas list this year is getting an HP30 housing.......

dont tell maggie but shes getting one too.... haha jk

"If you ain't first, you're last!" -Reece Bobby! :D

dang i just couldnt remember his name

well he aint goin anywhere just yet ;) i bought the motor out of the racecar today.... BTW i dont know if you know this but once you build it to race its no longer a rig or jeep but a "car"

...and Racecar spelt backwards is racecaR

This build should be a fun one! ...and hopefullyby 2013 I will be able to attend KOH :)

Well picked up the roller over the weekend. Its an 01 chassis but has renix style doors so they don't latch b/c the strikers are different. Right now that sucks because the doors just kinda flop around lol, but come race time it wouldn't really matter since I could bolt them or weld them shut if I need to. However it would be nice to be able to open and shut them normally for non-racing use. The wiring harness is there and seems to be in great shape, but the PCM is missing and it will be pretty much impossible to get one that will work without knowing the number that was on the old computer. The OBD2 stuff is very picky on the computer. So as of right now its looking like we will be switching it over to HO style OBD1 computer system.

More parts we need:

1. Hood
2. 97+ Right front fender
3. Both tailights
4. Maybe doors???
5. HO wiring harness (won't pay too much as I can get a complete harness at PAP for $13.
6. Automatic style HO ECM and AW4 TCM.
7. Radiator
8. Transmission shifter assembly and cable

Oh... one more thing... out team name... Since Tim, Doug, and Myself have been referred to as The Wolfpack (from The Hangover) our team name will Be "Wolfpack Racing". We might be a little lost and new at this, but we will work together and meet our goal!

Would it really be that difficult to find the right computer? Seems like it would be so much easier than completely rewireing the whole thing.

How many different numbers are there? Seems like there's 6-8 different numbered computers listed last I checked.

Find an 01 with the same options and close build dates and try it. Can't hurt anything if you're going to rewire it anyway.

I have one in my 97 that didn't match the original numbers and it works just fine.

Is it a 4 door? I have 2 red front doors from a 97.

If anyone here can build this rig and get it to Cali its you guys, just make sure it can handle Tim's driving style! :D
