What is there to do in KC this time of the year?

Anywhere good to eat, anywhere to avoid?

What does the weather get like in the middle of January??

Anyone want to meet up and have a beer? an un-official meeting of the MWC unknowns???

There is a bunch of us from KCjeepclub.org and here going on the first to tuttle if you want to join. Meeting at lawrence rest stop on turnpike at 7:00.

Thanks, I won't be there yet.

Plus, I'm pretty sure Hertz wouldn't appreciate me trying to wheel whatever piece of garbage they give me. But trying to get the lame ass excuse for an SUV they gave me last time stuck would be fun for they 30 seconds it would take.

I'll be probably be there the 7th or 8th thru the 19th.
Most likely staying out by MCI(KCI)

W Honey, fyi Kansas City is split between kansas and missouri. Go to Houstons on the plaza. Gotta get some BBQ from Gates or Arthur Bryants.
The temp has been kinda of warm but really its usually around the 30s.
The are three or four casinos here. There is a pretty nice place to shop up by MCI - Zona Rosa- its has Barnes and Noble and a lot of nice shops, also Smokehouse BBQ is there. The drinking/party district is Wesport kinda of close to the plaza. There is also an AMC 20 off of Barry Rd and I29. Hope this helps out- Kurt.

Thanks.
I was there once before, but it was only 2 days.
I realize the scareport is in MO, our plant/office is in KS(right off I-70 and Kansas 32).
But the group of people I'm with always want to eat at the same damn chain places they have near their homes. I usually want to try something local, at least once. BBQ is right up my alley.

Sounds like I oughta pack the long johns..... No room for the Carhardts in the suit case.

How the hell do you expect to go to Winterfest and only have a coat??

The bibs are practically the 'offical' uniform of the Midwest.

ive got bibs, coat, 2-3 stocking hats, gloves. looken into getting a new coat.

I have bibs, but they aren't Carhartt. Reichy is a carhartt nazi. 2x the cost for the square logo with a "C"

This from Captain Catalog himself. Sorry Derek, i could not resist that one. I dont have any carharts, but i have several polor and key brand duck coats, and i love them, just never could force myself to spend that much on a coat that i know im going to trash.

How long is a genuine Carhartt going to last compared to a lesser one?

The one I currently have is 10 years old. I don't treat it nicely either.
So for the $79 I spent buying it, it currently has cost my $7.90 a year to own that. It also will probably last a couple more years on top, further reducing the overall costs.

When are you coming to KC, the local club may have a run around that time. I usually have an empty seat.

I agree with buying a carhartt, but at this time, I would be happy with anything other than my jeans and long johns.

I am currently in topeka so during the week woudln't work for me, or this weekend sinceI have to go to emporia. But if you are still here around the 21, we have a ride then. Real close to KC on some private land. Last year we had 52 jeeps show up.
