Kahr Arms-

At lunch this afternoon after going to a local gun show, the conversation turned to Kahr Arms. Somebody brought up a point I had never heard before; Kahr Arms is somehow tied to Rev. Sun Myung Moon, the self-styled Messiah and leader of the Unification Church (cult). He's also a lunatic, thief and scumbag extraordinare (a little editoralizing on my part).

Then somebody suggested that Kahr was just owned by a subsidiary, loosley tied to Moon and his multi-billion dollar network of companies. I found all this very interesting and decided to do some research. It turns out it's neither of the above: The designer, owner and President of Kahr Arms is no other that Moon's fourth son, Kook Jin "Justin" Moon and a member of the "True Family." Kahr is a made up name, designed to sound German and imply quality and other Teutonic virtues. An investment of $5 million, given to Justin Moon by his father, was used as seed money to start production. Kahr is wholly owned by one of Rev. Moon's companies (Saeilo), with all profits returning to said company, though attempts are made to distance the two companies.

Do what you will with this information, but I for one will not buy one of their pistols as a result of this revelation.

I would never buy one on the merits of the pistol itself. I've tried them and don't like them.

those things have way too much trigger pull for my taste. Distance I mean. I tried one and made the offhand comment of "wow, wit that much distance I can start pulling and still have time to decide not to", the man behind the counter said "yea, its enough to get your ass shot too"...
