Just wondering...who's XJ is this?

X2 on moving the fogs on top, they are not gonna last long there off-road anyway. The "inner fender" that you are talking about unbolts with the fender flares. You will most likely break all of the flare retainer bolts and have to either weld new ones on or get new retainers.

You could probably cut the inner fenders where they are without removing them. You could use some "good" quality metal shears/tin snips and just cut them off.

If you get rid of the front bumper/caps, I'll take it! I need one.

Can I mount the fogs to the bumper? They're factory fogs and wouldn't I be mounting them upside down? Sorry, I'm just new to all this.

Yep, it really doesn't matter that much, just drill some holes and flip them to the top. You will still get the same amount of light from them which isn't much with factory fogs.

I wonder if it would be possible to switch the wiring harness of the factory fogs to the lights on this thing?

those bumpers look really cool! i've seen one on a grey XJ... don't know how it'd hold up to a rock or tree though...

....then dont run into a rock or tree....

Haha, haven't been on here in a while, Tim told me my old heep got spotted and he sent me the link. It's now my brother's however so he'll be around the providence area of south charlotte for a few more months before he goes off to school.

Yeah, my dad bumped into the jeep one day in the driveway with his excursion hence the messed up front end. Had two fogs mounted on top of the bumper that got shattered. I also removed the endcaps after because they didn't fit correctly anymore.

Awesome! It's great to get the story from the source! Looks like a sweet Jeep man! Hope your brother's enjoying it! Since I've lifted mine, my 16 yr old bro is wanting to put a lift on his 93 ZJ...and a roof rack, and some lights, and a set of subs...hehe

I know how the brother drama goes... My little brother always seems to outdo me, he has alot more money to play with than I do. Since he doesn't have bills.

My old XJ, the day I sold it. (Extreme Beater but was a blast)

His XJ, although I did build mine from the ground up, and he bought his lifted already and just bought the winch bumper (Still has my winch) bought the lights and some other bs.

I get to drive it though, so I can't complain.:scottm:

Where about in Oak Ridge do you live? My dad lives in Stokesdale and I used to go right through Oak Ridge when I lived in High Point and went to visit him.

I'll add another one of these:

Saw a bright red XJ going southbound 85 at milemarker 129 in GA Sunday afternoon.

I did not get a good look, but i believe it was a '97+ and taller than mine (4.5", 33's) but it appeared to have the stock flares/uncut.

Anyone here?

Funny, I used to see those two jeeps everyday in "Edinburgh" subdivision.

Haha no shit, yeah my mom's house is in Edinburgh. I kept my jeep there alot when it was broke down. I live with my buddy right now, off of 68.
My brother just moved out and is going to NTI, so hes in Mooresville. I had to sell my jeep to hire a lawyer, cuz I got myself into a little bit of trouble.
I will build another though soon.
His jeep is for sale, technically, he wanted to sell it real bad, then we went to URE and now he wants to keep it :D

I live in River Hills near Lowe's foods so I live right near your mom.

Cool stuff. I lived in an apartment for a long time, and u know how that goes, can't work on anything outside or you get thrown out. What sucked is everytime we worked on my jeep at Moms the niebors would call the cops. They had homeowners threaten to kick my mom out if we kept working on it. They said it uglied up the nieborhood. :( We did a tranny swap in the street right infront of her house, at the same time we also through blocks and spacers under the jeep and some new shocks. Cops came prolly 25 times.

Im about to build another one hopefully, this time HO motor.

Luckly I haven't had any problems with that yet. I've installed lifts, clutchs, u-joints. Never once have had the cops called on me yet. You guys should go to the URE Flog in November
