I read the book a few years ago -- we'll be watching the flick in the near future. Can my kiddies handle it, Frank? We've told them the story and they love it, but I think there may be a bit more graphic depiction that I want them to view...

I'd say no, only because of the language and few scenes better suited for a more mature audience.
