Yea, I hear that! Thanks! I LOVE Texas!! SooOo Much Better Than New Jersey in SO many ways!!

Well, I won't be any help wheelin', except to say that I see a lot of mud buggies around here. Just a couple of days ago I saw a trailer-queen '80-something XJ with about 10" of lift on boggers right here in Huntsville. IIRC, somebody said there is a mud bogging OHV site around here somewhere.

Hey! You wanna be president of the Texas Chapter?

Yea, I there's a Off Road Park north of me about 3 hours away maybe. And, Yes I would LOVE to be President of the Texas Chapter!!

I sure hope it works this time! What happen last time that it was closed??

Last attempt was just before my time, but as I understand it was just that the membership is so scattered. Coming from back east you may not realize, but it takes a long time to get from one place to another here, in Texas. It's hard to arrange weekend get-togethers when members have to drive 5 or 10 hours to get there.

But, like I said, you can count me a member, but I can't commit any time. I'm all tied up for the next 20 years or so :wierd:

Good Luck

Interesting!

I understand that! Before I moved down here, Girlfriend and I came down in March for 2 weeks. You quickly, well atleast we did, realize that Texas is HUGE! And it takes time to travel from one place to the other in TEXAS! People Don't realize that! That's why I said Texas should have it's own Chapter, becasue TEXAS is soo Danm BIG. But maybe parnter up with LA.....

Yeah, you look a map and forget to look at the scale :) My dad called me one day and said he and mom needed to get to Temple (mind you, they're in Missouri). If they flew into Houston could we pick them up and take them to Temple. Well, dad, depending on traffic it's a 2 to 4 hour round trip to Intercontinental, then it's 4 hours to Temple. Then we'd still have a 4 hour drive back to Huntsville. Ah, yes he says - I didn't look at the scale. This from an engineer who's college summer job was surveying for the C&GS. We picked them up at the airport but they rented a car to get from Huntsville to Temple.

You might want to increase your gas budget line item. We've recently pared down our eating out budget and dumped that into gas.

Texas could probably use several chapters all by itself.

...and welcome, even if you are from New Jersey, we're glad to have you.

Texas, I my looks of things here, Should have 4 chapters! This state is HuGe!!

Thanks! I'm so happy to be out of the north, out of New Jersey.

I'm def. a Rebel at heart!

I'm glad to be here in Texas. I feel more at Home here than in New Jersey! Texas really should have more than one Chapter!! The State is the Biggest of ALL the other States by Far!!!! Here in Texas, to get some where know that you are going to be driving a few hours One Way. I'm located in Beaumont, Texas, the South East side. For me to drive to El Paso....Oh Boy that's a Drive and a Half!! Here to Dallas/Fort Worth Area is about 10 hours one way.....

I'm waiting on some Four Wheeling.. I can't wait untill this Texas Chapter is UP and Running AGAIN!!! Friend that Lives in Silsbee, Tx took me to this place near Lumberton and Silbee..kind of near Sour Lake too. I had some OffRoad Fun! :sunshine:

Happy Trails!
