just got into a fender bender in sacramento. i was driving my stock '90 Laredo. the front fiberglass piece above the grill is broken, all the corner stuff; corner lights etc, my passenger side front fender is buckled and binding the passenger front door. there are some heavy duty scratches on the body cladding on the passenger side, and my front pass. side wheel has a small gouge.
an older lady in a '02 VW bug pulled into my lane, and the accident is very obviously her fault. the CHP came and took a report, the officer said it was fairly obvious, she admitted changes lanes, and she said we "came out of nowhere". anyway, so assuming that everything comes out the way it's supposed to, what should i do? the person that is handling my claim at progressive(my insur.) has contacted me already, and they're filing a claim immediately with the lady's insurance. where should i take for estimates? what will the dealership do for me? should i just take the cash and modify? i've been planning on a build-up, but i wasn't going to do it for 6 mos or so...
i've never been in an accident in my vehicle before, so i'm a bit lost as to what i should do to make sure i make out ok. no injuries or anything of that sort, just fix-it money.
