junk yard engine

I have to replace a blown engine in a 2001 Cherokee sport, can I use a 4.0 out of a grand Cherokee, is there some difference between a Cherokee sport, and a grand? I would think they are the same.

Wow, haven't seen you around here lately, recognized your username from the shortys XJ pull a thon years ago.
I believe you need a 2000 or newer because of different heads (exhaust manifolds will be different) and 99 and down did not use coil packs but good ole distributors.
