Jon (xjtrailrider) and lacrosse

I'm on my way to disney. So I won't see it. However it was nice watching him run away from people yesterday. Go the ball and left those 3 other middies flat footed. Also layed out the one kid behidhthe goal bigger than him. I hope he gets a goal this season. He'll be excited.

He will get a goal, today hopefully! Have a safe trip

No goals for him. Oh well. He really improved this year. Grandma got some pics.

Elijah will be a star for us next year. Coach Duncan and i were just talking about him today. For a first year player, he did great!

We really went on the skids since last weekend. I'm bummed as a coach but i know from coaching this age group that it just happens. Next week they might win it all, who knows!

Great pics of the speedster! He is one fast and quick young man!:yelclap:

One more day of lacrosse tomorrow then I can Jeep again!

I enjoy coaching but 16 games is about 4 too many for the U11 kids. Plus we have 3 games tomorrow. We finished the regular season 9-7. I really don't care about the tournament or if we win or not, I just want the kids to have fun together one last day.

All in all a great season. Thanks again Jon.

Maybe it should be said that your not responsible for others peoples kids during the downtime between games. You're not a babysitting service.

Yep, Some of the boys were behaving badly. I had some parents just drop their kids off and leave only to return at the end of the day. I don't get it.

I had great time this season and we are going to be good next year so I'm looking forward to it.

Now I get two months to fish and Jeep then football starts August 1st!

You've obviously never played Ultimate. :eyes:

Kidding, but lacrosse looks like a lot of fun. There was no lacrosse anywhere near me when I was in school or else I would have played it.

Same here, Football was the cool sport when I was in school. But just to our north in Maryland, lacrosse took hold after all rec and high school football was dropped due to injuries and death(followed by lawsuits) in the late 60's/early 70's.

MD has football at all levels again but Lax still rules as the #1 sport there. Its spreading here. We have 12 local rec clubs with a lax progfram and most all of the high schools have a lax club or varsity lax team.

I would have played lacrosse if we had it around here too. The first time i ever saw the game played was in 1978 when my brother was attending Washington and Lee University in Lexington VA. W&L was the top lax college at the time.

Like i said, I could go on and on and on about this sport!

They always look funny to me at that age, when they seem to get swallowed by the equipment. It was always a good feeling at summer camps when that age group came at the end of the day to watch our scrimmages. You can hear them talking about who is their favorite player and what skills they see they want to learn.

My son has his favorites, I can't remember any of the names but i do know that he aspires to play for Johns-Hopkins University out of High School.

Throw #1 in the win column. Both our kids had goals. Mine played way more aggresive this year than last year. I think it is a confidence issue. Great game.

Congrats!
