John Bull

Snow and ice make Gold Mountain and John Bull a whole lot more fun. :D

took a ZJ on 31"s open/open on JB...

he made it through everything with some spotting
there were 2 places that looked like they were going to be rough for him...

this one he didn't have enough approach angle to get on, it had a bypass that was slightly off camber. we also had 2 YJ's on 33"s have to bypass this obstacle because they were hanging up on their 8.8 rock anchors I mean differential

and this one, he was alright. it was close and he definetly used his gas tank skid:laugh3:

he did have a set of JCR rock catchers(rails) and they ended up doing him more harm than good, he ended up Hi-C'd on them because he didn't listen to the spotters and turned at the wrong time..Imagine if my rocker were sitting on its passenger side rocker with both passenger tires of the ground, being winched and you will know what he went through

FYI this was my first run with 33"s I was open open and had not trimmed my fenders at all, it was slightly challenging, but I made it up everything with no problems, and loosing~ 1.5" of tire would not have made that much of a difference to me.

now if you were to run the trail the opposite direction (the hard way?) you may have more issues, mostly being traction problems on the steeper climbs... although I have gone both ways and didn't notice huge a difference.

Doing GM and JB at night also makes them feel totally different.

on this obstacle, if you go to your right (left in the pic) and get your drivers side tires up on that big rock that's in the middle of the pic and walk the wall a bit with the passenger tires nice and slow you can make it down without making contact anywhere. That's the part I was talking about earlier, it'll eat your rear quarters for sure if you drop off there going too fast.

That spot is the reason I bought the JCR rear quarter guards from djblade. That spot mashed my rear quarters. I guess I was feeling cocky with my lockers and 35's and didn't think I would have to worry about trail damage. Stupid way to drive.

Whoah Dude, TMI! :roflmao:

thats almost what I ended up doing, I rode that rock on my passenger side for a little, then dropped off it towards driver however in the pic, I am just parking there because the ZJ on 31"s is stuck in front of me :yelclap:

here is another pic
