He's in Columbia, MO. He thinks his transfer case is toast. He's sitting along the interstate.

If you can help, I'm sure he'd apperciate it.

Got ahold of Mark.
He's going to go pick him up. Mark's already got his trailer hooked up and headed out the door for the rescue.

damn Jim sorry to here that! good luck!

Twice in one trip. Dang.

Depending on what he needs, I have enough 231 parts to just about build a whole new t'case. Just let me know.

I haven't talked to him today but, he is home.....with his Jeep.

Mark rescued him.

Props to Mark.

He just called me.

He needs a transfer case. He dosen't think his is worth rebuilding.

Damn, he's just NOT had a good trip.

Hang in there, Jim.

He was right. We built him a new case last night, 'bout the only thing we saved was the front case half and the mainshaft. Fresh rebuild with a new chain so it should be good to go.

Nice meeting you Jim.

I'm your guy if you need anything 231, or many other NVG transfer cases. Also have 62mm TB's and spacers.

Good to hear!
I wanted to make the trip with him but I just had too much going on.

Sure, don't use my parts :kicks dirt:

Just kidding, I'm glad you got it taken care of. What ended up being the cause, or do you know?

Looked like it had been run dry for a while, I see that in a LOT of transfer case failures. Jim's chain had stretched and eaten through the bottom of the rear case half, so not sure which came first, the dry case or the stretched chain causing the hole in the bottom.

Damn! I just now finally saw this thread. I saw Jim mention his t-case in another thread and wondered what was up. That really bites.
