Just took my XJ out wheeling and always take it to Firestone afterwards to get a quick alignment (yes I know they aren’t perfect but they’re cheap and good enough for the most part). They said they were having trouble aligning the wheel and that it would always go back off center on the test ride. Ball joints, tie-rod, and track bar are all new. I suspect the my steering box might be causing an issue. Above is a video of my steering shaft and pitman arm as the wheel is turned from side to side a couple inches. Is there too much slop? If so do I need a new box or can I use the little nut on the box to tighten it up?
