Jeep Regrets

dude i went to a dealership (big name not dinky used car lot) that had stuff like that goin on..... beaty chevrolet here in knox i wont ever buy from them
That's worth a call to GM corporate, and to the local DA.

Seriously. Especially for vehicles 96 or newer, which you will abruptly fail inspection with even though the light is missing... they will plug it into the computer and you're screwed!

The fact that they'd pull the bulb instead of just fixing the damn problem really bugs me, those error codes exist for a reason, it's to help you find the problem with the engine.

im not sure if they were doing it on purpose but they are definently not checking the used vehicles they put on the lot, they are purposely trying to let these things slide though..... one i drove had non functioning hvac (they had it listed as a red tag special) one had a transmission so clapped out i didnt think i was going to make it back from the test drive, and the last one seemed ok till i saw the black tape over the CEL....

My brother test drove a ford with such badly warped, rusted front rotors that he thought it blew a tire when he hit the brakes, and the entire gauge cluster went dead when he hit the first bump. He brought it right back and went to a different dealership.

He doesn't have the best car sense though, ended up paying 8k for a 97 civic with 27k miles on it. I told him he could buy a thousand dollar jeep, I'd help him dump another grand into it to make it reliable, and he'd have enough left over for a few years worth of fuel but for some reason he didn't like my math.

i regret taking out my carpet/headliner.
loud and hotttt

but for some reason he didn't like my math.

I've tried using logical things like math and reason with some of my friends. It never seems to work.

I regret lifting mine. It was a lot of fun to drive stock. Smooth ride and great gas mileage.

I'm really glad I'm not the only one with this regret! I've been thinking of taking it back to stock, as I just don't wheel it that much and the ride was a lot smoother!! Plus I'm getting sick of the constant struggle having to pull myself up to get into it (I'm short ok)!!

Long arms will smooth out the ride quite a bit.

i can't wait to get mine lifted! i've never regretted lifting, but on my first xj i did regret lifting 4.5" and then living with death wobble for 2 whole years before i finally broke down and bought an adjustable trackbar. the stock one eventually yanked the ball out of the socket on top, and i had to do something, and i knew stock wasn't going to cut it with that much lift.

The lower angle means more of the force from a bump in the road goes into the spring and less goes straight up the control arms to the body. The ideal control arm angle (IMO) would be parallel with the ground but that's impossible to get without completely wrecking your ground clearance.

Oh, and the longer arms mean the axle moves less forward/back as the suspension travels, and the longer arms also mean the suspension can travel more without binding as much.

No real regrets yet. So far my 98 Limited XJ is a beast. Only thing i wish i did was hold out for a set of 5 grizzlies. I only have 4 atm and they are mounted on some 31's. My backup tire is the stock doughnut. Yea, im living on a prayer...
