Is it just me? Do 34" LTB's look like 31's...

is that how our lifts work aswell? when they say you can run 33s of a 5.5 inch kit they mean 32s and 3 in kit you can run 31s that are about 30s?

?? i dont think we are on the same page...

no, lifts usually run taller so that they settle at or around the rated lift height, it costs them no less or no more to rate their springs high and have them settle low, THAT is bad for business. but having a .5" drop in tire size, and saving some odd amount of rubber for the next tire and so on, that is good business, since first of all, not many people measure their tires, and second of all, i doubt they truly plan it that way, but why change what already works... just my opinion

We arent on the same page.

I wasnt talking any false advetising on the part of the lift company... Im saying would it make a difference if that true 31 inch tire was mounted on a vehicle equiped with a lift to fit the 30.5 inch tire thats produced...

I realize its not THAT big of a difference between 31 inchs and 30.5 inchs but It was just something to think about.

ohhh, no.

the lifts are spec'd to generously fit (in that case) a 31 inch tire, most of those companies dont use trial and error, its all mathematical engineering, so they most likely use a number like 32 or 31.5 while measuring the articulation radii, and the front and back clearences of the wheel well.

they make it so it fits very well and has room to flex. besides.. with a sawzall, a 2 inch can fit 33s even 35s if you cut enough
