A couple of buddies in AZ went to a buyback with cash and sat in the parking lot buying stuff up, giving cash for more than what the gift cards were going for. Scored some good stuff. :D:D:D

Turned out she didnt have anything melted down..........just hid them away.

Found a old Marlin 25-20 M and a Winchester .22 short from 1908 (looked it up) and a bunch of 38s.

The serial number falls into the range of those made by the Springfield Armory but I don't have any dates for you. Value is anywhere between $550-2,575 depending on condition. Based on your pictures I would say it is about 80-90% whihc makes it worth about $1000, the leather holster and and the belt will add to the value. The above is based by the Fjestads Blue Book of Gun Values from about 2003.

Do NOT shoot it until it is checked out by a competent gun smith. I wouldn't shoot it at all myself. You've already cleaned it which is good, a light coating of gun oil on all metal surfaces will preserve those. The wood grips can be preserved with a light coating of linseed oil. The leather holster is in good condition, someone already mentioned how to take care of it. The belt, just leave it be, as long as it stays dry and out of the sun it will be ok.

Nice find, enjoy it!
