Do these go bad like a TPS?

If you mean the sensor inside the distributor, yes they do.

What are your symptoms?

The ECU is getting sync signal maybe 20% of the time, my Renix Engine Monitor is throwing a code for it. I'll replace it thanks

You could disconnect it and not notice the difference other than the code.
