Intake/throttle body swap?

I have a 98 XJ with 6.5 in. longarms 4.56's and 33's. The engine is basicaly stock except for a cold air intake and cat back exhaust. I'm getting ready to install a 00 intake and a home bored TB. My question is will I have a problem with it running lean? I've already relocated the IAT sensor to the intake tube. Will I need an adjustable MAP sensor? Will a performance chip do the job? Also which injectors should I use? The 00 injectors (Blue top I think) or the 98 injectors (grey top I think)? Sorry about all the questions. Any advise will be appreciated.

Thanks

From what I've seen with a basically stock setup, you should be fine as even stock the fuel rail can supply plenty until you install a stroker or a turbo or something similar. What are you doing with the original 98 intake? I have a 96 that I am looking for a 97+ intake for.

So are the 98 and 00 injectors pretty much the same? I'll most likely keep the 98 intake for a little while. Until I make sure this swap was a good idea. I just want to make sure this swap won't cause a lean condition. Will the computer compensate for all that extra air?

Yeah, because the bolt on manifold is going to cause such an extra air influx to cause the AFR to go lean.

Keep the injectors you have. No need for injector change until a stroker or forced induction.

Did I stutter?

The manifold change will help it breath on the highway, not so much at the low end. As you are not changing the displacement, original injectors are what you you use. Unless you want to put the Mustang style in. I am not convinced it is worth the money...

Your '98 injectors have type EV1 connectors and '99+ have EV6. There is really no reason to go through the trouble of splicing connections as the injectors you have will work just fine.

That manifold change is gonna be good for about 3 whole horsepower if you're lucky. Don't worry about larger injectors and don't invest in a neck brace either.

Cruiser54 makes a very good point....
There was a time when I considered the swap of a '00 intake manifold onto my '98, but after doing some extensive reading and viewing of dyno printouts on stock engines and strokers; the cost of the installation wasn't really worth the gains.
Yes it helps the engine breath better on the highway and yes you get a few more HP and possibly 1 mpg increase, but for me it was not enough to warrant the time and money invested.
Unless you get the intake manifold for free; then the installation might be worth the time to invested.
If you are building a stroker and have access to the intake manifold; the installation might be worth 5 HP at best.
Guess you need to decide whether 3 HP is worth the time and money you are investing.

I realize an intake swap is not a neck snapping mod. I got it cheap. My ultimate goal is to build a stroker when my current motor fails, or maybe buy another engine and put it on an engine stand and work on it a little at a time so I won't have to invest all that money at once. Tayln, I was planning on using stock injectors I just didn't know which of the two sets I have would be the best to use. There was no need to be an A** about it. Jerimiah, thanks for answering my question calmly without even a hint of sarcasam.

96-98 injectors flow 23.2#@49psi and have ev1 connectors. 99+ injectors flow 22.5#@49psi and have ev6 connectors. The 99+ intake swap and the 63mm TB complemented my borla/magnaflow cat setup on my 94 and 96(before it was stroked), so I recommend it. I did a little gasket matching, injector boss grinding, and cast smoothing on my intake. All of the little mods add up.
