as for us, we sold the 89 a while back and just got us a 93 with the bosch 4.0 high output, but only a 2wd

think the pumpkin is a dana 30 (the cover is round with a rubber stopper plug)

the only markings i can find on the rear end...

no lift and running 235/75/15's on her.
with the oil leak i am working on getting the RMS fixed but the top piece is not cooperating). did the valve cover gasket & ready for new oil (put new oil filter on her too) and new wipers and a new battery. after this is complete i'll be looking for a working blower motor (the fan isn't working).:repair:

the d30 is a front axle not a rear, rubber plug usually means 8.25. you can also tell because the 8.25 will have a flat bottom and "horns" above where the pinion enters the housing.

@Talyn ig might be My spelling. But was told its NOT a renix, it is a bosh /Bosch (?). Which Im told is better.

@GrimmJeeper ok thanks. I just knew it wasn't a Dana 35, 44 or 60.
Our old jeep had a 35 in it. And could tell this one wasn't the same.
Maybe down the road when we have a second vehicle ill find some 44's & to put under her when turning her into a real jeep (4x4!)

Ahh I remember cracked.
Maybe you're confusing bendix with bosch. Bendix and renault made the renix ECM.

Albandit, our old jeep (1989 xj) was the renix made 4.0
from what im seeing on this "new-to-us" 1993 xj, there isn't as much "garbage" wires n hoses in the way as our old jeep had. its been a couple years since we had the old jeep though. and this old mans memory isn't as good as it used to be! lmao
