I'm all geeked out about this; Project NATAL, Saweet!

I see how that would be fun. But not worth it IMO. My reasoning would be because i don't see any strategy in it. I like games where you can interact with other people to get a mission done(Halo, Gears of war 2, Rainbow six, COD) Just games where you have to pretty much be in the game. I don't know if that makes sense to anyone. I just like to have a CONTROLLER in my hands while i play games...

I have been playing games since before you were a twinkling thought in your momma's eye. :D

I am tired of the same-ole-same-ole. We have been playing vid games with a controller for 30+ years!

............this is very refreshing idea if it is implemented as in the tech demo, awesome!

Wii was refreshing and the idea behind it is unique but not revolutionary. The machine is outdated old tech compared to the PS3 & X360 and the developers haven't impressed me with their implementation of the motion sensor yet. Hence I got bored, and sold my Wii.................

Now this with NO controller is a very awesome idea! ......Why do you say you can not play with other people? Very interactive in so many levels. That doesn't mean that you will have to play all Genre's of games with the NATAL you can still use your damn joystick, see I am old-skool, controller!

I envision another 5 years and multiple wall screens and the whole game surrounds you while you look like a silly monkey waving all over the place. :jester:

Eh not so impressive......I get it, but definatly not for me. Dont we play video games to escape the real world and almost do things we cant in real world? If I want to fight someone and basically use all of my energy I will graba friend and take him outside. The driving one seemend totally bogus. She moved her hand to shift, how do you downshift. What if it recognizes my downshift as an upshift and visa versa? And that image importing yeah right......and if I wanted to interact with my friends face to face I would just go see them. I doubt it will ever become as big as XBOX wants it to be. O yeah and PS3 FTW!

This is pretty much what i was trying to say. I have to agree with everything BUT XBOX360 FTW!!!

It is weird the younger generation comes up with "Controller" is for me and I play to escape the real world? I think you would be more adaptive to the newer ideas. Hardcore gamers are there but will never be the mainstream and the money maker. I was and still am a hardcore gamer but I see this as an evolutionary step that is exciting to see finally, and I am old. My first game machine was a home pong machine, second a SEARS play system (Atari).............I have had every game system since then and also played to death the PC games. I view this as a major step in the right direction...............

............this whole concept is escape, you are more immersed in the action. As surround audio did for the film industry enhancing the experience with your audio senses playing a game where you control the action by your own movements not what the input you are placing on the controlling devise will make it more involved with your senses.

Did you watch the action on the LIONHEAD Studios demo where the boy on the screen threw the glasses and her natural reaction was to reach out and catch it? If they can get the reaction and detection of the device down to a very accurate control scheme it will change the way we play games from now on.

Look at the reason the Wii is selling so well and kicking both SONY's & Microsotf's arse? It is easy to get people involved and playing, not complicated at all. EVERYONE is buying and playing a Wii...........

Believe it or not SONY needs or is already working on something to compete with NINTENDO and now MICROSOFT. They are already in last place and hurting bad! ...and yes I had all three machines last year, got bored of the PS3 & Wii as I mentioned earlier, kept my X360, which I am happy now! :gee:

For about a month and then selling them. Yes you cant find many for sale brand new but go to Gamestop and they have tons of used ones. I had mine for three months and then sold it because I only played it for one month.

Even if you count that in to effect they are still selling like hotcakes to the casual gamer, why do you think the Nintendo DS is so popular? The hardcore gamers go to GAMESTOP, hardcore gamers get bored with it as I did. HARDCORE gamers are not the majority purchasers anymore. We have to own up to that......................we are now the minority.

Everyone else buys from Walmart, Target, etc. they are always sold out.

Most hardcore gamers dont have a wife and two kids...............

Most hardcore gamers dont have a wife and two kids...............

I beg to differ, all those that grew up Nintendo that considers ourselves the old-skool gamers are all married with kids. :shhh:

..............unless you are that mid to late thirty year old living in your mothers basement playing WOW.....................

That is what I was refering to.

Sad part is I have an old friend that is very similar to that. He is married with two kids and his whole basement is dedicated to gaming mainly WOW, he is on 18 hours a day his wife tells me. Showers once a week, I haven't talked to him much in the last couple years.

I wonder why?..........................:D

My best friend Matt is kinda like that. Luckily not the showering part. He works at Gamestop and has every game you would ever want and every system. His living room consists of his 50in plasma, a wii, xbox, xbox360, ps3, any game for those systems, o and on the game shelfs he has two DS's a gameboy color and a PSP. O and a nice surround sound. The walls are covered with DC comic posters as well as a few game posters like Resistance. and the biggest reason he is a hardcore gamer.......................................................................

wait for it
wait

He has a second PS3 in his bedroom!:looney:
