Well it happened, on Tuesday 8July2008 Colin Joseph Freeman-Guthrie was born 8lbs 4oz and 21" long. I don't have any pics right now because they are still on my camera which I left with his mom at the hospital. She is staying there tonight and will be home tomorrow afternoon, unfortunately I have to be at work tomorrow. I'll be posting a few pics once she gets home and we get everything settled down a bit.

To be honest I've never been as happy as I was when he was born. I've never been one to cry and I have never cried tears of joy, but when he came out I was a little baby. I couldn't help myself, the tears started flowing and all I could do was hold him and Ashley and give them both kisses. There is nothing embarrassing about it as far as I'm concerned, and I'm sure some of you guys know how I feel. There is nothing, absolutely nothing cooler than having your baby come into the world. I've never been so happy or proud.

Been ther, done that...twice. Total baket case....and damn proud of it.

Congrats!

BTW, your employer ought to get kicked in the junk repeatidly for making you come to work when your wife and baby are coming home. Totally fawked up!

Well congrats Dutch!!!! My mom is a Labor and delivery nurse down in the springs at memorial hospital. She got permission to bring me for a night because I am an EMT and I have to see these things in person and have to be prepared for the field. When the first baby was born... it amazed me. I looked up and saw the new dads face and it did bring tears to my eyes because he was so amazed and excited to see his first child come into the world.

Congrats for now, and congrats on the many children to come? possibly? lol

They aren't, I took tuesday and wednesday off but I don't really have enough sick leave for tomorrow. I could do leave w/o pay, but we need the money. I make over 200$ a day at work so its a big cut out of the paycheck to miss work and money is tight with only me working.

I would use annual leave but I'm saving that for the end of the month when I take a week off from work to take the "wife" and kid down to GA for my little brother's graduation from basic training. We'll also be stopping by AL to see the now great great grandparents. Wow, thats amazing too. My Grandpa who waspretty much a father to me is a Great Grandpa now. :D Ha, he is soo old. :D My mom is a 44 yr old Grandma.

My "wife" will have help tomorrow. Her mom is in town and staying with her at the hospital tonight. She'll be helping her bring the baby home. My mom is also on her way and will be here friday. Then the two newly dubbed grandmas get to babysit for a little bit saturday because my "wife" and I are going out to celebrate my birthday.

Nothing more cool...at all...First time, or any other time.  I'm happy for you!

LOL Frank. It's not like us guys carry through the pregnancy and then go into labor. We have it pretty easy; back to the hunting/gathering for us clods!

Congrats!!!

Congrats Dutch! Glad to hear Mom and Son are healthy and doing well!

BTW, don't hesitate to ask if you guys need anything over the next few weeks - sounds like you've got plenty of family help, but seriously, holler if we can do anything.

Congrats Dutch I got 2 and they are a handfull............

Dutch how old are you?

Congratulations!

Good to hear everyone is doing good.

Like I told you Monday while we were BSing over the heeps, "There is nothing like it in the world." My boy just turned 8 month old and the adventure has just begun.

........next couple months comes the no sleep, drooling on yourself, and spit up stains on your clothes that you don't catch :)

You got your wheeling co-pilot.......

I was wondering when this announcement would come out! Congratulations and welcome to some of the coolest, most memorable experiences you will ever have. IMO there's nothing that tops bringing a child into the world. Cool stuff.

X2 big congrats man.:woohoo:

Congrats Dub! I'm on baby-watch myself. Number three is knocking, and we're going to have to let him/her out any day now. I, too, shall cry like there's no one watching.

:peace:
